Huawei has replaced apple to become second largest smartphone manufacturer globally as per the global smartphone shipment tally of Q2 2018.
In Q2 2018, Huawei global smartphone shipment grew 23% compared to Q1 2018. During the same period, the global shipment of Apple declined by 17%. It is second consecutive decline of apple (26% in Q1 2018 compared to Q4 2017) which helped Huawei claim second spot.
Huawei now commands 13% of the global smartphone market, while Samsung is still at top with 19% market share. Xiaomi is now at fourth place with 9% market share. Xiaomi gained 2% in Q2 2018 over its market share in the previous quarter.
Oppo is at fifth place with 8% market share. Other smartphone players still commands around 39% of the market.
